He dabbles in J-pop, jazz, and pop. But many know Marty Friedman as a virtuoso guitarist in metal music after his stint with thrash/speed metal legends Megadeth. After the release of the scorching Inferno (pun intended), Marty is roaring back again with the release of his newest album, Wall Of Sound. The thing I love about Marty is that even though he is more than capable of shredding a solo up and down the guitar neck, he still creates leads that are melodic and exquisite to the ears. There is no better example of this than in his newest track, Self Pollution. It is fast, heavy, and chock full of blistering leads. But every lead is memorable. Something I find is lacking in a lot of modern guitar players of the same genre. Hopefully, this is just the beginning of another terrific album from Marty!
Wall Of Sound releases August 4th on Prosthetic Records. In the meantime, check out Self Pollution and the artwork/tracklisting for the album!
