Frusic - Week of June 3rd, 2016

Well, I'm a little bit late here, as I've been busy. Honestly, I don't have many new albums on the go this week. But I still want to showcase a couple of highlights for the week. The rest of June/beginning of July is a fairly significant time period for new album releases, so it's the calm before the storm!

The Witcher III: Wild Hunt - Blood and Wine - Official Soundtrack (CD Projekt Red) - Marcin Przybylowicz, Mikolai Stroinski, and Piotr Musial

Ooh, a soundtrack release!

With the release of the new expansion in their critically acclaimed franchise, Polish developers CD Projekt Red have also issued a brand new soundtrack to accompany the title. I have heard bits and pieces of this soundtrack, and it is just as breathtaking and atmospheric as the music for both the base game and the other expansion in the series, Hearts of Stone.

These soundscapes will surround you as you get lured into the vibrant world of Toussaint. Even if you're not going to be playing the game, I recommend having a listen to these soundtracks. They are beautifully crafted and should not be overlooked!

Fates Warning - From The Rooftops (InsideOutMusic)

Progressive metal veterans Fates Warning have issued the first full song from the new album, Theories of Flight. Titled From The Rooftops, the song is classic Fates Warning, blending styles of their earlier albums and their more calculated sound with the aggressive approach found on their modern releases. It gives me the same kind of vibe that Sympathetic Resonance gave me when the band released that project with former Fates Warning vocalist, John Arch. Theories of Flight releases on July 1st, but you can check out the lyric video for the new song below!

Revocation - Communion (Metal Blade Records)

Revocation must never stop working, because they have another full-length release coming in July. This band is a workhorse, and they produce some of the most consistent metal releases in their genre. Their new album, Great Is Our Sin, releases on July 22nd and if it is as monumental as Deathless was, then I will be one happy dude. Check out their new song below!
