Frusic - Week of May 27th, 2016

A couple of interesting albums headline the Frusic releases for this week.

Miles Davis & Robert Glasper - Everything's Beautiful (Columbia/Legacy)

Celebrating the late, great Miles Davis' 90th birthday, Robert Glasper has brought in an impressive slew of collaborators in an effort to reinterpret several outtakes and tracks from Davis' career. Don't let that scare you off. Even as a big Miles Davis fan, I'm appreciating the celebration of his music through different perspectives. And when you have artists such as Erykah Badu and Bilal contributing, it's an experiment that's in good hands. If that's not enough, Stevie Wonder makes an appearance on his harmonica on the final track, Right On Brotha. Check it out!

Beth Orton - Kidsticks (Anti-)

Beth Orton brings the folktronic sounds back into the fold on her new album, Kidsticks. Textured and atmospheric, the album is a product of tight production, which allows Orton's vocals to shine through its layers with a shimmering quality. If you're looking for something truly unique to place in your record collection, then don't miss out on this one!
